Mitsubishi Motors Pitch 2008

Client: Traffic via The Cimarron Group. Art Director: Tom Cordner. Project Date Summer 2008.

After 4 years running the 3D Design Department at The Cimarron Group, the company spun off an outside traditional Advertising firm from Cimarron, called, The Traffic Agency. I was tasked with helping with the pitch to Mitsubishi, and they only had a few days for delivery of a full "Mocked up ad campaign". I had successfully helped secure Lotus Cars North America for the Corporate Division for the then head, Nigel Williams prior to his departure, so I jumped in with the Lancer EVO-X sports car they wanted to highlight for this pitch.

Here is where 3D was a perfect solution. First with the turn around we had acquiring the car and doing a photo shoot was out as we had no time. And the second BIG issue was that the 2009 campaign was moving from Red cars in 08, to Burnt Orange for 09'. Only thing was there were no cars in Burnt Orange in the states. Here the virtual Photo shoot paid off and we won the 200 Million dollar account away from a much larger agency.

The Tachometers were the only thing that I did for the actual client with Traffic after they secured the job.

Cheers, THOM
